Urinary Catheters
There are many different types of catheters available including:
•    External catheters or condom catheters (for men);
•    Indwelling catheters which are inserted in the bladder via the urethra or wall of the stomach (suprapubic/SPC) and remain in place for an extended time; and
•    Intermittent catheters which are briefly inserted into the bladder, to empty it, and then immediately removed. They are commonly used by people with long-term incontinence who are living independently and have the dexterity to perform regular catheterisations (up to 5 per day).

Leg Bags
•    Large capacity drainage bags are designed to channel urine from the catheter into a large bag and are generally used while sleeping.
•    Leg bags are generally worn during the day, discretely under clothing, and channel urine from the bladder into the bag. They are available in various configurations to suit lifestyle needs and should always be worn lower than the bladder.

Accessories
Continence accessories is a broad term that includes any device or product designed to simplify securement or optimise the performance of bags or catheters.
As the name suggests, Securement Devices, secure catheters to the body.  Bed pans, sheets and chair pads would also fall into this category, as would gels and care products.
Pads and Pants
There are many different types of absorbent pads and pants, including disposable and reusable. They are generally used by those experiencing minimal leakages or unable to perform catheter changes.
